The Newburyport ArtWalk Galleries, available as a self guided tour at any time, invite you to these special art-focused events beginning each year in April. The ArtWalk special events are when you may enjoy special gallery themes, artist receptions, light refreshments, new works of art, and more, at destinations all within walking distance around town. Some galleries may stay open later during special event dates.
Start at any gallery, at any time, pick up a map, and continue through to other galleries.
2008 Opening
What is becoming an annual event, Newburyport ArtWalk 2008 will kick off its 2008 season on Saturday April 26, 2008 at 3 PM to co-incide with the Newburyport Literary Festival.
The 15 participating galleries of Newburyport's ArtWalk will have a theme of Art and Literature. Galleries will be joining in the celebration of Newburyport's Literary Festival with art works that are related to, or inspired by, literature. Many gallery artists will be in attendance to discuss their works and refreshments will be served.
Participating galleries include: Bridge Gallery, The Churchill Gallery, Child at Heart Gallery, Indigo Artist Studio, The Walsingham Gallery, the Newburyport Art Association, Valerie's Gallery, Off the Wall, Spirit of Newburyport Gallery, Ferry Wharf Gallery, Connor Summers Gallery, the Firehouse Center, Somerby's Landing Sculpture Park, Lepore Fine Arts, and Chameleon.
Galleries are open year round and offer a brochure with map that shows a convenient walking tour of all gallery locations in town. The map may be downloaded from our website as well as picked up at galleries, the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, the middle passage way between State and Inn Street, and various restaurants and inns.
